It almost worked
The first picture is Mere and I. Next is Jeremy and Brittany, then Cory and Tiffany, and Tessa and Brian. It looks like you can make out the rest of the words.
I'll try it again soon, and hopefully make it work.
Love to all,
Tim & Mere

A joke for the middle of the week!
I have to share this - a friend emailed it to me and I've been giggling ever since I finished reading it - so here goes:
Gas anybody?
A little girl asked her Mom, "Mom, may I take the dog for a walk around the block?" Mom replies, "No, because she is in heat."
"What's that mean?" asks the child.
"Go ask your Father, I think he's in the garage."
The little girl goes to the garage and says "Dad, may I take Belle for a walk around the block? I asked Mom, but she said the dog was in heat, and to come to you."
Dad said, "Bring Belle over here." He took a rag, soaked it with gasoline, and scrubbed the dog's backside with it to disguise the scent, and said, "Ok, you can go now, but keep Belle on the leash and only go one time around the block."
The little girl left and returned a few minutes later with no dog on the leash. Surprised, Dad asked, "Where's Belle?"
YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THIS!!!!!!
The little girl said, "She ran out of gas about halfway around the block, so another dog is pushing her home."
TELL ME YOU'RE NO LAUGHIN'.......

Ok Tim & Merideth, Dave & Brenda, Gary and Debbie and all the children of the Hartman world, Its time for you guys to master the addition of pictures. Louie and I would love to see some. Also any one else who wants to post so we can see who you are. I'm still searching for a picture of Louie and I that I want to post. This may take some time as we are not quite as photogenic and the grandchildren.
Thank you Dave for Dad's DOB and birthplace. we have an application for a passport to complete and that was one of the missing questions.
Love this opportunity to blog and touch base with everyone.
Love ya,
Pam

Amen Sister!
Pam,
Those grandbabies are adorable!!!!! They obviously come from good stock (most likely on both sides). I see some of you (Pam), and some of James (which means Louis as well) in each of them. I can see why you are so proud of them. We certainly hope that you can work it out so that they can come with you to Texas.
Cindy,
This blog means so much to us........I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to get on line and check to see if anyone has posted.

Love to all,
I'm playing around with the blog, just having fun. I added a counter (bottom left), so when you read/post/whatever, you can look down and see how many times the blog has been viewed. There is a report that can be accessed to tell exactly how people came to the blog - I haven't figured that one out yet. I know there are some younger ones out there (because Tim said so) who could probably figure all this out in a snap!
Pam I'll say it again - you have beautiful granddaughters! Oh yes, Louie has some too :).

short cut to blog
I figured out the short cut. go to www.blogger.com and sign in.
The names of the pictures are Morgan 1yr in the pic., she is now 19mos. The two girls together are Madison age 5 and Sydney age 8.
I have been made aware of the bloggers profile by James & Theda. I did not know it existed. Just click on the name and read all about them.
Love ya'll,
Pam

Way to go Pam! I love the photos - but you forgot to tell us the names! Beautiful grandchildren! I'm not sure how to tell you to "blog direct," maybe someone else can help you with that.
Cara and Caryn are your second-cousins! They are Aunt Gails and granddaughters, your cousin Bill's (and Diane's) daughters! Cara lives in Louisiana and is married with two children, Caryn lives in North Carolina - is single and is a teacher! Caryn and Cara - please add more and correct me here. We caught up with them again in August at Aunt Gail's 80th b'day extravaganza. The last time we had seen them was in 1985!!
I never did mention the winner of the identify the photo contest! It was Cara! Although she and the rest of us had seen that photo in August. It is indeed your Great Grandfather Albert Edward and Great Grandmother Effie Belle - their wedding picture. Isn't that incredible. The Hartmans are so fortunate (I believe) that have "ancestors" who thought pictures were worth the effort. Caryn (hint hint) has a bunch of old photos on CD that she is sending us (hint hint)
Now I need to find another picture and post it and maybe even have a real contest!
So, chilly here, possible flurries tonight. Rachel's car was broken into Thursday night/Friday morning - "they" busted out her front passenger window and took her GPS (Christmas gift from Mom & Dad). She has good insurance - window fixed already - and major lesson learned - don't leave anything out in eyesight.
Okay enough for now! Love to all - Cin

I'm here again, completely by accident
Does anyone know how to post a blog direct? I seem to be taking the long route and I'm not sure even how I got here.
Louie and I are excited about joinging everyone at the reunion site in July. I will let you know what days exactly that we will be there. His mom lives near San Antonio, so we are going to try to make it a two-fer.
Here is my attempt to add photos: Well, they didn't land how I expected. Oh well, here they are just the same.
I can't wait to see everyone and get caught up in all your lives. Congrats Brenda & Dave on the new addition coming soon. And Congrats to Brenda, WOW State Manager! Hope your presentation goes well. Is this your start into politics with a Presidential Campaign in the future?
Hey there Tim & Mere. I do know it gets very cold in Vegas. We had wind chills below 4 the other day. By the way we saw where the Monte Carlo caught fire, how sad. James's new wife and here Mom are making a trip to vegas in June. They will be staying at the MGM.
Louie looked at the Country Woods Inn webpage and was impressed. He wants to bring his fishin gear. I have not yet looked. I will talk with James to see if its a possibility for them to join us. Now that I have dates I need to start planning and co-ordinating schedules. I'll let you know.
Love the Blog Spot! Who is Cara & Caryn?
I wouldn't even beging to know who the picture of the young man & woman is, maybe Great Granma & Great Granpa??
Love you all,
Pam

Melancholy
Hey all,
Merideth and I just got back from Provo......getting Ciara moved in. She has a new job up there, a new place to live, and apparently no more need for parents (booooo-hoooo). We are happy for her though. She has wanted to live in Utah for quite a while. We got up there on Saturday evening and it was 11 degrees. I know that for some of you (or younz), that's not cold. But, for those of us who live in the desert (where it's hot), that is dang cold. I don't mind telling you that it took a couple of hours and a good hot shower to warm up Mere's feet. It started snowing on Sunday night, and kept snowing all the way back to the desert (where it doesn't snow!). Did I mention that it was cold!!
Well, anyway......she's there and we're here....and that's the reason for the melancholy mood. We hope that all of you are working on your vacation plans for July.
See you all then
Love, Tim & Mere

Count us in!
As far as I know, if I can get the time off, we should be able to make the trip to Texas, probably for the entire time. We will probably drive, as it is easier with my Mom and Jesse to just come in our conversion van. I will try to request the time off and let you know. Oh, and by the way it is spelled "YOUNZ", ha! ha!
We are all doing ok. So much for the nice weather - the low tonight is supposed to be 8 degrees with a wind chill factor of -12 (yes for those of you who live in hot climates, that is 12 below zero!)
Brenda - congrats on your new grandchild! Did it arrive yet? Give us all the details whenever you can.
I like all the pictures you guys are putting up on this - it is fun to look at! Ok - gotta go - time for bed - gotta get up at 4am to go to work tomorrow.
Love to all- Marla

Hey Where Is Everybody?????
Happy Friday! Is everyone out there? We have re-sent several invitations to join in "blogging" and we want to see photos!
Things in Maryland are a little chilly - little snowy. Tomorrow the highs are not supposed to get out of the 20s - brrrrrr. Dave wants to move south ..... I may not be able to hold him back much longer. Don't tell him but I'm starting to think I might want to go too.
Debra - try again - we resent you the invitation, so keep trying.
Come on everybody - let's chat!

We gave all the info to Rachel, now we will hope she will join us.
OK, Here are the details for the Reunion
We tried and tried to get a weekend in June, but were unable to. So, we have reserved the place for the third weekend in July. The dates are July 17 - 21, that gives us 5 nights and 6 days in beautiful Glen Rose, TX.
We reserved enough beds for @ 30 people, with the option to get more if needed. The cost should be in the neighborhood of $35.00 per person/ per night. The cost could change depending upon the final number.....so, come on down....the more the merrier!
The place is called the Country Woods Inn. It is actually a bed and breakfast. Which reminds me, if you all (you-inz) are interested in the breakfast the cost goes up @ $5.00. Country Woods is by far the nicest place that we looked at and the pricing was one of the lowest.
If you get on their website countrywoodsinn.com, we have reserved the Main House, Prairie House (north and south), Saddle House, and the Farm House (east and west). We also reserved the (air conditioned) Barn for all day Saturday for the actual reunion (it has a big kitchen and several large tables).
As I mentioned, we have reserved everything. There are some deadlines that we need to meet. We need to know who is coming, when you will arrive, and how long you plan to stay by April 1st. That way, if we need to change any of the dates, get more beds, or give back some beds, we can do it before the cancellation deadline and get at least a partial refund on our deposit.
The place has everything that we need to be comfortable, and to have a great time. All that is missing so far...........is you!
Merideth and I are planning on getting to Texas on the 15th. Most likely, we will be staying with Mom and John. We will get together with Tammy & Don, Brenda & Dave, & Gary and Debbie to start buying groceries and the few things that we will need for the weekend.
At this point, we are not sure which kids will be coming out with us. But, we hope to get some committments soon.
Please e-mail us, or post your plans on the blog as soon as you know what they are. We are excited to see all of you in July!

This is the contest...
Okay, this is the contest - who is this lovely couple? There
are several of you out there who know (from our trip to
celebrate Aunt Gail's birthday in August) and you need
to excuse(?) yourselves.
Here's a little background information without giving
you names - this photograph was taken August 29, 1900. The man in the picture is 22 and the young lady is 16 (scandalous).
A glorious prize awaits the one who can successfully identify these ancestors (oops another clue).
P. S. Tim - thanks for identifying Bo Jeter!!!! That wasn't the contest - but it's nice to put his name in the family album.
Okay family - let's get havin' fun!

I know, I know.......
He's a Jeter and the picture must have been taken in Texas. Mom has two siblings, Ima-Jean and Jimmy. The toe-headed kid in the middle is Bo. I think his real name is Jimmy Jeter Jr., but we know him as Bo.
What do I win..........

Okay - speak for yourselves with this "old stuff"
Tim I sent you an email to answer your questions! I'm waiting for your reply with lots of information. In the meantime - here's another photograph - can someone tell me who the little blonde is in the center of all these near-naked Hartmans? Tim - dude you got some naturally curly locks there! Pam and Brenda - you gals were just hanging with the guys - sibling solidarity. Dave and Gary, hmmmm.
I got another pic Dave wants me to post tomorrow - we'll call it a contest - someone needs to identify the people in the picture - unfortunately we will have to exclude Hutch, Marla, Cara and Caryn from the contest. We will have another photo later that they can participate in (they will understand I'm sure.)
I'm with you about this unusual weather Marla - but I guess we'll pay for it.
Okey dokey - love to all - Cin
We are getting TOO OLD!
OMG - we are getting way too old when we need the assistance of our children and grandchildren to do simple tasks ! I have no idea how to post a picture on this thing - I hope Hutch does! Ha! Ha!
Tim - I think you started "STUTTERING" about emails, or something!!!
We are so looking forward to hearing more about Texas - let us know ASAP!!!
We are having some very UNUSUAL weather in western Pennsylvania for January - Monday and Tuesday we had record-breaking high temperatures in the low 70's!!! Usually this time of the year we have record-breaking "low" temperatures under zero!!!! Oh well, just glad to have some nice weather, as this weekend it is supposed to go back to the 30's and 40's. Still not bad.
OK - see "younz" later!
Love,
Marla

It's me again......
First of all, let me say that this is fantastic.......look out, we're communicating!
Cindy,
How do I get my kids on the blog? Can I e-mail you an e-mail with their e-mails, then you can e-mail them, or.........is that too many e-mails?
I am going to try to get some pictures posted this weekend. I am sure that I will need the help of someone under the age of 30.
I am not sure how this works, but how can I get in touch with Pam? Is it safe to post an e-mail address, or phone number?
I just want her to know that we miss her and Louis and the family. I also want her to know how happy we are that she has Grandkids!
Merideth is working feverishly to get our reservations for Texas this summer. We will post the dates as soon as we have them.

Hey everyone! Just got home from work, ate dinner, and now am getting ready to do my 2nd job of medical transcription. But of course, had to take the time out to check e-mails, etc.!!!!
Boo-hoo - Steeler's lost last night! Oh well, there is always next year!!!! Jesse wasn't too upset, as one might imagine!
Am I missing something, or this thing in Texas only for "Hartmans"? I don't know what you are talking about, but if I'm supposed to know, please tell me. If not, please tell me that, too!!!!
Tim and Meredith - any time you guys want to journey back to Pennsylvania - you are MORE THAN WELCOME!!!! That goes for any of you "Hartmans" out there. We can always make room - and we promise to attempt to show you a good time!
Oh by the way Tim & Meredith - Hutch and I went with friends this fall along the "wine trail" through upper New York state - we had a blast and brought home "a few" bottles of wine! Ha! Ha! Next time you are here we will take you there.
Ok everyone - got to go now - have work and must do it!
Love,
Marla

Happy Friday!
I'm feeling the need to just share. I left work a little early today as Rachel called and was driving home from work and said she was feeling very sick. We met a Patient First and the diagnosis is a viral upper respiratory infection. She said her throat felt like it was on fire and painful to swallow or talk. So now, 3 hours later with 8 teaspoons of liquid motrin in her she is crashed in bed. Honestly, it felt good to meet her at the clinic - of course I just sat in the waiting room - but it felt like I was "mommy" again. Sigh.
Dave is zoned out in front of the tube. He has an extracurricular "activity" at school now - he's the assistant director? and stage manager for the middle school's production of Mulan. They had their first rehearsal tonight.
This winter weather (early darkness) kinda gives me the blues. And of course that big build up to Christmas, all the hustle and bustle and excitement, then it's over. The good news of course is that the days are actually getting longer. I'm watching the times that the sun sets.
I'm so hopeful that some, all, any of you will get on here and just chat! You would have laughed at Dave and I last night trying to line up those five pictures, then when we finally gave up and posted, we realized that with all the "fiddling" we'd done, we left a huge empty space. Hey, it's a learning process.
Anxiously hoping to hear from ya'll--Cindy

Happy New Year!
We are doing better! Pam's post looks good. Just need to get more people looking, posting, and adding pictures! So, we are adding a few you all might recognize! We've been thinking about having some contests - "Who's is this ancestor?" Who knows what wonderful prizes may await you! If you can contact family members who have not seen the blog yet, please do, If we need to send them an email to get them started (being able to post on the blog), let us know.
Let the fun begin - look at these cuties!
